Newport, Costa Mesa city facilities schedule holiday closures

The Newport Beach Civic Center and most city facilities will be closed from Christmas Eve through Jan. 3, with all facilities reopening Jan. 4.

The city’s libraries will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day. The central library, at 1000 Avocado Ave., will be the only library open Dec. 26. It will have regular hours Dec. 27.

Next week, there will be no street sweeping on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and no trash collection on Christmas Day. Collection will instead be done Dec. 26.

In Costa Mesa, City Hall will be closed from Christmas Eve through Jan. 3. City staff will return Jan. 4.

The Costa Mesa Sanitary District and Mesa Water District offices will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Costa Mesa street sweeping will be suspended next week through the New Year.
