Around Town: Alzheimer’s group marks name change

More than 800 guests gathered Wednesday at Alzheimer’s Orange County’s holiday open house in Irvine to mark the nonprofit’s name change from Alzheimer’s Association, Orange County.

The event, which raised nearly $5,000 for the organization, brought together caregivers, people living with Alzheimer’s disease and supporters of the nonprofit’s efforts to fight it.

The evening also featured a “Memories in the Making” collection of art created by Alzheimer’s patients.
