Authorities have identified the body of a man found floating in Newport Harbor Monday morning.

Coroner’s officials said they will perform an autopsy to determine how 47-year-old Daniel Baille died. Baille’s city of residence was unavailable.

Police think Baille’s death was an accident.

Officers learned of the death shortly before 9 a.m. when someone discovered the body in the water at the west end of the harbor near the intersection of River Avenue and 43rd Street, Newport Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella said.

There were no signs of foul play, Manzella said.
