Around Town: Newport Dunes to host Beach Party

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is ready to celebrate summer with a two-day Beach Party this weekend.
The party starts from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday with live music, more than 30 professional barbecue teams and beer and wine tasting.
Sunday will feature a community carnival, a band competition and beach games from noon to 6 p.m.

Newport Rib Co. gives meals to kids
Newport Rib Co. in Costa Mesa recently hosted lunches for five local elementary schools whose students demonstrated strong character, improvement or high academic achievement.
Newport Rib Co. fed children from Rea, Wilson, Pomona, Victoria and California elementary schools.
The students also received a certificate for a free kids meal.
