Newport art exhibit benefits community programs

Art enthusiasts from across the region made their way to the Newport Beach Civic Center on Saturday to peruse and purchase hundreds of paintings, sculptures, mixed media and photographs.

More than 280 pieces were on display by some 150 artists from across the nation during the 52nd annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition. Attendees chatted with artists while enjoying food, wine and music.

The event, presented by the City Arts Commission, was juried. Part of the proceeds from Saturday will benefit community art programs in Newport Beach.
