Stag Bar to host Rams party and fundraiser
Stag Bar + Kitchen in Newport Beach will host a welcome-back party for the Los Angeles Rams NFL franchise Tuesday that also will raise money for charity.
The event, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., will include appearances by former Rams cheerleaders and players, including defensive back LeRoy Irvin and kicker Mike Lansford. The party is open to the public and admission is free.
Proceeds from food and drink sales and a raffle during the event will benefit the charity Give Cancer the Bird.
The 2016 Rams, who are having preseason training camp at UC Irvine, will play their first season in Southern California since 1994, after which the team moved to St. Louis. Home games will be at the Los Angeles Coliseum until a new stadium in Inglewood is completed in 2019.

Newport restaurant to host cancer fundraiser Sunday
A Restaurant in Newport Beach will host a benefit for the John Wayne Cancer Foundation on Sunday.
The event will include live music and drink specials from 3 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, 3334 W. Coast Hwy.

Medical campus being built in Newport
Construction is proceeding on a new medical campus in Newport Beach.
The Newport Heights Medical Campus, at 20350 and 20360 Birch St., is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2017.
Real Estate Development Associates is developing the two-building campus, which will contain 64,000 square feet of suites ranging from 1,000 to 22,000 square feet.
Local tech firm acquires software company
Predictive Inc., an operations technology start-up based in Newport Beach, recently acquired 2338 Technologies.
The Sunnyvale-based software company is “on a mission to use machine learning technologies to improve everyday life by automating mundane, repetitive tasks,” according to a news release.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Wingstop reopens in Costa Mesa
After closing its location at 1781 Newport Blvd. near downtown Costa Mesa, Wingstop has opened another restaurant up the street.
The new establishment is at 2300 Harbor Blvd. in the Harbor Center anchored by Albertsons and The Home Depot.
TLT opening restaurant in Newport
TLT Food is opening a new restaurant in the Bluffs Shopping Center in Newport Beach on Thursday.
The fast-casual establishment will serve brunch, lunch and dinner. Selections include an ahi tuna tostada, a blue crab grilled cheese sandwich and a pork belly adobo taco.
TLT, at 1332 Bison Ave., is a concept from chef Daniel Shemtob, an Orange County native who started the Lime Truck.
Newport businesswoman to appear on CNBC
Carla Johnston, who created Carla Lee’s Nut Burgers, based in Newport Beach, will be featured on CNBC’s “West Texas Investors Club” at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Johnston will be shown trying to “convert meat-eating Texans to her plant-based burgers,” according to a news release.
