Costa Mesa council meeting canceled; next is Aug. 2

Tuesday’s Costa Mesa City Council meeting was canceled due to lack of a quorum.

Scrapping the meeting wasn’t unexpected. The city had said Friday that the meeting likely would have to be nixed because not enough council members would be there to make decisions.

The agenda for the canceled meeting had only four items. All of them were on the consent calendar, meaning they were considered routine.

The council’s next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 2.

The second meeting in August has already been called off.
