A man brandished a handgun during a confrontation in a Costa Mesa neighborhood Sunday night, according to police.

Police said they aren’t sure what the altercation was about, but it ended when one of the men in the car brandished a semiautomatic handgun before the car sped off.

Police described the car as a small dark-colored Honda, likely a Civic made in the early 2000s. No description was available of the men inside.
