Huntington Valley Little League gets new bleachers after fire
After a fire destroyed bleachers, the scorekeeping booth and other equipment at a Huntington Valley Little League field in Wardlow Park in November, the Huntington Beach youth baseball organization held a field maintenance day Jan. 28 to restore the damaged facilities in time for the spring season.
SoCal Honda Dealers donated new bleachers that were installed by volunteers. The Honda group opened volunteer sign-ups through its Facebook and Twitter pages.
Participants also turned out to put up new nets and fences, replace and paint the backstop, weed the outfield and hang flags.

Opening day for the league’s spring season is Feb. 25.
