Man sought in theft from Sam’s Club in Fountain Valley

Fountain Valley police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of stealing home theater equipment from the local Sam’s Club.

Police said the man made off with a sound bar, valued at nearly $1,000, from the store at 17099 Brookhurst St. at 4:16 p.m. Feb. 20.

The man ran out an emergency exit and fled in a 2005 gray Chrysler Town & Country minivan, according to police.

A store security camera captured photos of the suspect, who was described as white, in his 30s, 6-foot-6, 210 pounds with brown hair and a short brown beard. He was wearing a green flannel shirt, jeans and white Nike shoes.

It was the second recent theft of electronics reported at that store.

Police said another man stole $399 worth of goods at around 7 p.m. Feb. 7. The man ran out the emergency exit and fled in a red Toyota 4Runner.
