UCI’s Heim honored

UC Irvine sophomore Sebastian Heim has been named Big West Conference Player of the Week in men’s tennis.

Heim upset No. 35-rated Uros Petronijevic in straight sets in the Anteaters’ 4-1 loss to San Diego on Saturday.

He won his doubles match against the Toreros, as well as a doubles win in a 5-2 UCI triumph over UC San Diego on Sunday.

Heim was player of the week three times last season, when he also captured Big West Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year accolades.
