Corona del Mar 87, Beckman 81

IRVINE — Senior guard Sam Kobrine finished with 25 points in the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League game on the road Tuesday.

Matt Ctvrtlik had 23 points and three three-pointers for CdM (17-7, 4-3 in league), ranked No. 8 in the CIF Southern Section Division 3A.

The Sea Kings play host to University on Friday at 7 p.m.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Corona del Mar 0, Beckman 0

IRVINE — Kat Hess made six saves for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League game at Great Park.

CdM is now 7-6-7, 2-2-3 in league. The Sea Kings play host to University at home on Thursday in a key league game. University (3-3-1 in league) is tied for third place with CdM, as both teams have eight points.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Corona del Mar 11, Beckman 4

IRVINE — Jaleh Moaddeli scored seven goals for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League game at Beckman High.

Chloe Harbilas scored twice for CdM (12-7, 7-0 in league), and Abigail Klein and Emily Ritner added goals.

Heidi Ritner made six saves, and Erin Tharp had five. CdM plays host to University on Wednesday.

IRVINE — Natalia Bruening had 25 points and 15 rebounds for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League game at Beckman High.

Krista Anderson scored eight for CdM (17-5, 5-2 in league), and Kelly Tam had six points and five assists.

Kat Hess had four points, seven rebounds and four steals for CdM, which plays host to University on Friday on senior night.

Estancia 52, Calvary Chapel 31

SANTA ANA — Finley Garnett had 16 points for Estancia in Tuesday’s Orange Coast League game at Calvary Chapel.

Maya Van Den Heever added 15 points, five assists and four three-pointers for Estancia (16-6, 6-0 in league).

Estancia plays host to rival Costa Mesa in the second Battle for the Bell game on Thursday.

WRESTLING

Newport Harbor 61, Edison 14

Harrison Reich, a 145-pound senior, and senior heavyweight Valdemar Gomez each won on Monday, helping the Sailors finish third in the Sunset League for the second straight season.

Reich and Gomez enter the Sunset League finals at Marina High on Thursday undefeated in league action.
