JT Navarro was two for five with two runs batted in and two runs to lead the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Thursday.

Chris Prescott was two for four with one RBI and two runs, while Andrew Garcia was two for five with one RBI for the Pirates (10-8, 1-2 in conference).

Jack Pabich allowed two runs in 6 1/3 innings to improve to 2-0 and Tyler Armour worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings to post his first save.

Cypress is 12-3, 2-1.

Morningside 4, Vanguard 2

Paul Keating was two for three with a home run and two runs batted in to lead the host Lions in the nonconference game Thursday.

No. 22-ranked Vanguard fell to 15-7-1.

Morningside of Iowa is 13-2.

MEN’S TENNIS

UC Irvine 6, Georgetown 1

Justin Agbayani, Jonathan Poon and Tyler Pham won in singles and doubles to pace the host Anteaters in the nonconference match Thursday.

Agbayani (No. 4 singles) and Poon (No. 6 singles) teamed at No. 1 doubles to prevail.

Pham won at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles.

UCI improved to 11-5.

Georgetown is 4-6.

Georgetown 4, UC Irvine 1

The host Anteaters won the doubles point in the nonconference match on Thursday.

Andrea Dava and Vivien Dvali prevailed at No. 2 doubles, while Sarah Gong and Ashlynn Hall won at No. 3 doubles for UCI (2-10).

Georgetown is 6-3.
