Brett Super threw six shutout innings and struck out seven for the host Lightning in a nonleague game on Thursday.

Edward Pelc had two hits, a walk and a run batted in, and his brother, Jack, and Connor Bock each had an RBI for Sage Hill (12-1), ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division 6 poll.

Los Alamitos 8, Newport Harbor 5

John Olmstead went two for three with two doubles and one RBI for the Sailors in the Sunset League game on Thursday.

Josh Spicer was two for three with two RBIs and Cameron Mahaffy was two for three with an RBI for Newport Harbor.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Crean Lutheran def. Sage Hill

IRVINE — Albert Son finished with four kills for the visiting Lightning in an Academy League match that the Saints won, 25-9, 25-10, 25-18, on Thursday.

Parker Warden had three blocks for Sage Hill (1-8, 1-3 in league).

Corona def. Woodbridge

Kevin Korbine had seven kills to help lead the Sea Kings to a 25-8, 25-12, 25-11 Pacific Coast League win on Thursday.

Jake Pearson added five kills for CdM (12-3, 2-0 in league), which has its alumni match at 5 p.m. at CdM.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Corona del Mar 14, Northwood 4

Bjorn Hoffmann and Kyle Pham each swept in singles for the Sea Kings in Thursday’s Pacific Coast League match at CdM.

The Sea Kings, ranked No. 6 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, improved to 8-2, 2-0 in league.

CdM opens play at the 17th annual Corona del Mar All-American Invitational Tournament on Friday at 8:30 a.m., when the Sea Kings play against Phillips Academy of Andover, Mass. at CdM.

Fountain Valley 12, Newport Harbor 6

Mark Schaefer and Sam Leeman swept at No. 1 doubles for the Sailors in their Sunset League opener on Thursday.

David Lee won two of three at No. 1 singles for Newport Harbor (4-6, 0-1 in league).

BOYS’ GOLF

Huntington Beach 200, Newport Harbor 204

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Noah Mayne and Drake Siegel both shot 40 for the Sailors in the Sunset League match at SeaCliff Country Club on Thursday.

Richie Simons and Ryan Standt both shot 41 and Ethan Barnes shot 42 for Newport Harbor (2-2, 1-1 in league).

SOFTBALL

University 13, Estancia 10

Kalena Shepherd had four RBIs for the Eagles in the nonleague game on Thursday.

Grecia Henriquez walked twice and had a base hit and scored all three times, Felicia Rios went three for five with a double and Maya Van Den Heever was two for four for Estancia (3-7).

GIRLS’ TRACK & FIELD

Fountain Valley 83, Newport Harbor 52

Senior Emma Kratzberg won the 100 hurdles in 14.78 and the 300 hurdles in 44.47 for the Sailors in the Sunset League dual meet on Thursday.

Senior Grace Clemence won the pole vault (10-0).

Helen Coyne, Lauren Loucks, Holley Clemence and Kratzberg took first in the 4x400 relay.

Kera Newland won the high jump (4-10).

Senior Emily Bacon won the 1,600 in 5:25.24.

Mia Matsunami won the 3,200 in 12:08.00.

BOYS’ TRACK & FIELD

Fountain Valley 90, Newport Harbor 44

Junior Mark Field won the 1,600 (4:29.49) and the 3,200 in (10:13.50) for the Sailors in the Sunset League dual meet on Thursday.

Ryan Fegan won the pole vault (14-9).

Mike Jarboe won the shotput (54-10) and Patirck Kelly won the discus (139-0).
