SANTA ANA — Nick Pratto struck out 12 in his complete game, helping the Oilers win their opening game in the Boras Classic South bracket at Mater Dei on Tuesday.

Cory Moore had two hits and three runs batted in for Huntington Beach.

The Oilers (16-3), ranked No. 5 in the state by CalHiSports.com, resume tournament play against No. 1 Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (14-3) at JSerra on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Notre Dame advanced to the next round by defeating Aliso Niguel, 6-0.

Estancia 5, Godinez 0

Adam Auriemma went the distance, striking out five for the host Eagles in an Orange Coast League game on Tuesday.

Estancia’s Tyler Ross and Brian Rodriguez each went two for four.

Trevor Brown and Joe Stukkie each had a hit, and they combined for three runs batted in.

The Eagles (12-8, 5-2 in league) play at Godinez on Friday at 3:15 p.m.

Costa Mesa 19, Saddleback 2

SANTA ANA — Ty Muir went three for four with two runs batted in and two stolen bases for the Mustangs in an Orange Coast League game on the road Tuesday.

Omar Munoz was two for four with four RBIs for Costa Mesa (9-13, 4-3 in league), while Michael Ricks was two for two with four RBIs.

Corona del Mar 7, Irvine 1

Chazz Martinez pitched six innings and went three for four with two RBIs for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game on Tuesday.

Preston Hartsell (one for three, two RBIs), JT Schwartz (solo home run) and Nolan Dunn (two for three, two doubles) also contributed for CdM, which plays at Irvine on Friday.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 15, Woodbridge 4

IRVINE – Jensen Coop had four goals to lead the visiting Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Monday.

Coop had five draw controls, while Kennedy Mulvaney had seven draw controls for CdM (9-5, 7-0 in league).

CdM can clinch at least a share of the PCL title with a victory on Wednesday at University.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Woodbridge 10, Corona del Mar 8

IRVINE — Kyle Pham and Grant Brown swept in doubles for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League match.

Matt Paulsen and John Hart also swept in doubles for CdM (4-2 in league).
