Women’s Water Polo: UCI’s Brooks Big West Player of Year

UC Irvine sophomore Mary Brooks has been named Big West Conference Player of the Year in women’s water polo.

UCI junior Gabby Pierandozzi was second-team all-conference.

Brooks, the Big West Freshman of the Year in 2015, led the Anteaters with 55 goals.

Pierandozzi, a defender, had 29 goals and helped Coach Dan Klatt’s squad lead the conference in defense.

Annika Nelson, a junior goalie, and Destene Albers, a junior attacker, received honorable mention.

UCI finished 19-11.
