Vanguard women’s volleyball 2-0 in pool play of NAIA tourney

Vanguard def. Southern Oregon

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Senior Sarah McKinney had 15 kills and hit .522 to pace the No. 6-ranked Lions in the second of three pool-play matches on Wednesday at the NAIA Tournament at the Tyson Events Center.

Senior Rachael Barker had 14 kills and hit .333, while junior setter Kelly Dalrymple had 25 assists and both of her team’s aces.

Junior Rory McCloy had 24 assists and 10 digs for Vanguard (24-5), which is 2-0 in pool play and faces Midland of Nebraska in the Pool F finale on Thursday. The top two teams from each pool advance to the single-elimination bracket.

Vanguard freshman libero Rebecca Lowden had 23 digs.

Southern Oregon fell to 25-6.
