Sicard’s time of 13.84 seconds was 17th in the field of 24. The top eight advanced to Friday’s final.

This was Sicard’s second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships. He won his heat and placed third overall at the West Preliminary Round in Lawrence, Kan. on May 28 with a season-best time of 13.61.

Sicard won his second straight Big West Conference title in the 110 hurdles last month.

He earned 2016 Big West Co-Athlete of the Year honors in men’s track and was conference Athlete of the Week twice this season.
