FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Avery French finished third to help UC Irvine finish second in the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic completed Tuesday at the Ptarmigan Country Club.

UCI’s team score of 885 was bettered only by San Jose State, marking the Anteaters’ best team finish since a runner-up showing in 2013.

French shot four-under-par 212 over 54 holes, in which she had 12 birdies.

FULLERTON — Noel Baham and Grayson Galbraith each had one goal and two assists to lead the Anteaters in the finale of the Fullerton Tournament on Sunday at Cal State Fullerton.

UCI (7-1) also received goals from Jessica Miclat and Lili Andino, while Kiana Palacios had a pair of assists.

Maddie Newsome did not make a save as UCI posted a 28-2 advantage in shots.

UAB is 3-4.

UCI visits Idaho State on Thursday.

Inland Empire Classic

LA VERNE — UC Irvine posted a pair of wins on Sunday, topping Pomona-Pitzer, 9-7, and defeating Whittier, 8-4.

Jack Thrush led UCI (3-2) with four goals against Pomona-Pitzer and three against Whittier.

Matej Matiejevic made 18 daves against Whittier and 12 against Pomona-Pitzer.

UCI plays host to Concordia on Thursday at 7 p.m.
