Allie Griffin scored twice to lead the host Lions in the nonconference game on Wednesday.

Nicole Dunn, Madison Lopp and Kim Benner also had goals for No. 10-ranked Vanguard, which posted a 33-1 shot advantage to win its fifth straight game.

Goalkeepers Haley Magana and Katie Delgado (one save) combined to preserve the shutout for the Lions (5-2).

Soka is 0-5.

Orange Coast 21, Saddleback 8

Kevin Dayan had six goals and two assists to lead the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference opener on Wednesday.

Ariel Levi had five goals and three steals, while Parker Evans had three goals and four assists to help OCC improve to 4-1.

Alexander Furlong had 12 saves for OCC.

Saddleback is 1-1.
