UC Irvine def. Saint Frances

LORETTO, Pa. — Thomas Hodges had 12 kills to lead the visiting Anteaters, who swept the nonconference match, 25-23, 25-17, 25-15, on Wednesday.

Tamir Hershko had nine kills and hit .413, while Scott Stadick had six kills, hit .545, and added two solo blocks and four block assists.

No. 6-ranked UCI is 13-6.

Saint Frances is 8-12.

Orange Coast def. Moorpark

The host Pirates earned a 25-13, 25-21, 25-21 sweep in the nonconference match on Wednesday.

Jordan Hoppe had 13 kills and nine digs, while Justin Kam added 12 kills and seven digs for the winners (9-1).

Colby Elder had 27 assists for OCC.

Moorpark is 2-9.

SOFTBALL

Fullerton 8, Orange Coast 7

FULLERTON — Nala Osorio went three for five with one run batted in to lead the visiting Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game on Wednesday.

The Hornets (7-9, 2-4 in conference) scored in the eighth inning to prevail.

OCC is 3-11, 1-5.
