Breakdown: Edison, the No. 2 seed, plays host to Buena Park in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs … Chargers and Coyotes have only met once before, last year in the second game, and host Edison produced a 38-0 shutout at Cap Sheue Field … Edison Coach Dave White said the Chargers will be without linebacker Mateo Gallego, who injured his knee during last week’s 49-24 first-round win against Newbury Park … Buena Park features half a dozen future college players in Cal commits Hawkins and Johnson, as well as Gates, who has offers from Oregon, UCLA and TCU, Nelson, who is bound for Virginia, Devon Cooley, who has offers from UCLA, Colorado and Colorado State, and Dashiell, who has an offer from Brown … Edison, which likes to air it out, will have to run the ball to beat Buena Park … Coyotes feature a shutdown cornerback in Gates and a lot of athleticism and speed.
