Woman’s purse stolen with bonus check
A 56-year-old Glendale woman reported Thursday that her purse containing a $1,000 bonus check was stolen from a shopping cart in a grocery store parking lot, police said
The woman told police that at about 7:54 p.m. she exited Vons market in the 500 block of North Glendale Avenue and briefly turned to open her vehicle trunk. That’s when she suddenly noticed two men running toward her, according Glendale police reports.
She had placed her purse, which contained a wallet, identification and credit cards, a cellphone, a pair of glasses and the bonus check, in the shopping cart.
One of the men quickly grabbed her purse and ran away with the second man, police said.
A witness told police he heard the woman screaming “Thieves, robbers,” according to police.
The woman was not injured.
