Detectives investigate elderly man’s death in La Crescenta
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man on Friday in the 3000 block of Frances Avenue in La Crescenta, according to authorities.
Sheriff’s deputies initially went to the residence after receiving a call for a welfare check on Friday, according to Lt. Douglas Mohrhoff of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“(Deputies) went to the scene and found a body,” Lt. Mohrhoff said. “They secured the scene and notified homicide detectives.”
The victim was described as male his 70’s, who died of apparent blunt force trauma, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The identity of the victim, and the cause of death will be determined by the coroner,” Schrader wrote in a press release.
