Glendale man arrested for alleged sexual assault of minor

A Glendale man was arrested this week for allegedly sexually assaulting a boy in the dressing-room area of the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, police said.

Leslie Dittert, 57, was arrested by Pasadena police on Monday after the boy told his mother he had been sexually assaulted by a man, and she reported the incident to the center’s staff, who recognized Dittert as a patron of the facility, according to a statement from the Pasadena Police Department.

Staff members notified police, and lifeguards followed Dittert from the aquatic center and through a park, where police arrested him, according to the statement.

The case was turned over to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, but no charges were filed. Dittert was released from custody on Thursday.

However, Pasadena police are continuing to investigate the incident and are attempting to find additional victims.

Parents or minors who may have had inappropriate contact with Dittert are asked to contact Det. Monica Cuellar at (626)744-7128 or the Pasadena Police at (626)744-4241.

To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
