Unemployment rates decline slightly in Glendale, Burbank area
Unemployment rates dipped in Burbank and Glendale last month with educational and health services as well as professional and business services adding the most jobs – 10,300 and 7,500, respectively, throughout Los Angeles County, according to the latest labor report.
The jobless rate declined by 0.1% in both cities, with Burbank coming in at 7.2% and Glendale reporting 7.7%, according to statistics released Friday by the California Employment Development Department.
Statewide, the unemployment rate also did a 0.1% down-tick to 8% last month, which is a significant improvement from 9.4% in February 2013.
In the La Crescenta-Montrose area, the jobless rate dropped by 0.1% to 4.3% last month, while La Cañada Flintridge saw its unemployment rate rise 0.1% to 3.4%.
