Police release surveillance footage of woman suspected of stealing $1,700 from Foxy’s Restaurant customer

Police released surveillance photos and a video of three grand theft suspects.

Police on Thursday released surveillance footage of a woman who allegedly stole $1,700 in cash from another woman’s purse at Foxy’s restaurant in Glendale.

Just after 10 a.m. on May 6, the woman and two men sat at a patio table at the restaurant, located on the 200 block of West Colorado Boulevard, next to a woman whose purse was hanging on the back of her chair, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

While one man distracted the waiter away from the table, the woman reportedly reached into the victim’s purse and removed the cash, Lightfoot said. After a few minutes, the suspects left the restaurant.

The trio had initially moved from an inside table to the outside one, but left without ordering anything, according to restaurant manager Hugo Castillo.

Police did not release video of the actual theft, citing that the victim’s face was visible.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Glendale police at (818) 548-4911. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
