Unemployment rates drop in Glendale, Burbank
Unemployment rates in Burbank and Glendale dropped 1% last month with leisure and hospitality as well as trade, transportation and utilities adding the most jobs – 5,500 and 2,400, respectively - across Los Angeles County, according to the latest labor report.
The jobless rate declined to 6,6% in Glendale and 6.1% in Burbank, according to statistics released Friday by the California Employment Development Department.
Statewide, the unemployment rate was 7.8% last month, down from 8.1% in March and 9.1% in April 2013.
The jobless rate also slid in the La Crescenta-Montrose area to 3.7% from 4.2% in March.
In La Cañada Flintridge, the unemployment rate dropped to 2.9% from 3.3% in March.
