There will be no registration today at Glendale Community College. The
campus is closed to observe the Labor Day holiday.
FALL SEMESTER BEGINS
The fall semester begins Wednesday. Late registration will also be
taking place. Students can avoid the parking woes at the start of the
semester by using the GCC shuttle service.
The college has a park-and-ride program for the first six weeks of
school. The parking structure is at 701 Brand Blvd. A shuttle leaves the
parking area every half-hour beginning at 7:30 a.m. and arrives at the
college in 20 minutes. The shuttle going from GCC to the parking
structure on Brand leaves every half-hour beginning at 8 a.m. The last
shuttle leaves the campus at 3:30 p.m.
Half-price parking permits are available to students who use the
shuttle for the first six weeks. After six weeks, the shuttle permit is
exchanged for a regular permit. The half-price permits are $22.50 and are
issued by the GCC Police Department. For more information, call 240-1000,
ext. 5925.
Many students will have taken advantage of the online book reservation
service to avoid waiting in long lines at the Bookstore to buy textbooks.
Students who reserved their books online were able to pick them up before
the semester started.
For information on the GCC Bookstore, visit the Web site at
www.glendalebookstore.com. For information on late registration for the
fall semester, visit the GCC Web site at www.glendale.cc.ca.us or call
