GLENDALE -- The Armenian American Chamber of Commerce and the United
Armenian American Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to serve the
Armenian business community.
The two groups will act together under the name Armenian American
Chamber of Commerce. The new chamber will be based in Glendale but will
serve businesses throughout Southern California.
“We’re working the same community and we had basically the same
mission, so we decided it didn’t make any sense to serve the same
community separately,” said Armen Janian, honorary chairman of the new
group. “We can get much better mileage out of our efforts this way.”
The main item on the new chamber’s agenda is to organize an Armenian
business expo for September 2002 that would be even larger and more
successful than this year’s “Expo 2001: Made in Armenia” in June.
