RICHARD A. WALTON
Richard A. Walton, a longtime Glendale resident, died Oct. 4, 2001 at
his home.
Mr. Walton was born June 28, 1928, in Los Angeles.
He worked as a political editor for the Herald Express, and had been
an assistant to state Controller Alan Cranston.
He started a private law practice in Los Angeles, where he worked for
40 years.
He served as past president of the Criminal Courts Bar Assn., and
received its Joseph Rosen Justice Award, and was also a past member of
the Old Bailey Society.
For many years he was active and involved in many Glendale community
sports programs, including the Glendale Foothill Little League, and was
the head umpire for many T-ball games.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elaine; children, Steve and
daughter-in-law Dianna Walton, and Elizabeth Avalos; Roxanne and
son-in-law Ben Bruner, Suzanne and son-in-law Jeff Swink, Randy and
daughter-in-law, Kristen, Ray and Jerry Walton, Adrianne and son-in-law
Neal Fallon, and Jon Walton; grandchildren, Krista, Alexandra, Cristina,
Jaqueline, Cooper, Hunter, Redmond and Ryan; and brother and
sister-in-law Donald and Mary Walton.
The family invites everyone to bring stories and memories and join
them in a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Neighborhood
Unitarian Universalist Church, 301 N. Orange Grove Ave., Pasadena.
