Red Cross holds CPR class
GLENDALE -- The Glendale-Crescenta Valley Chapter of the American
Red Cross will hold a course in CPR on Saturday at its headquarters.
Students will learn how to perform adult CPR. The cost is $31.
The class is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The chapter is at 1501
S. Brand Blvd.

CV Sierra Club hosting wildlife biologist
LA CRESCENTA -- The Crescenta Valley Sierra Club will host Debbie
Sears at its March meeting.
Sears, a wildlife biologist, will present a program on efforts to
restore the California condor to its natural habitat. Sears’
presentation will include information on various breeding programs,
raising infant condors, how the birds are prepared to survive in
their natural habitat and procedures taken after the giant fowl are
freed.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. March 13 at the Sunland-Tujunga
Library, 7771 Foothill Blvd.

Fashion show benefits Childrens Hospital
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Members of the Flintridge Guild of
Childrens Hospital will hold the eighth annual American Girl Fashion
Show from March 14 to 16 at Brookside Country Club.
Proceeds will go to the Endowment for Excellence in Nursing at
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. A dinner and fashion show will be at
7 p.m. March 14, and a tea and fashion show will be at 10 a.m., 1 and
4 p.m. March 15 and 16.
This year’s show theme will be “American Indian,” and models will
wear native costumes as well as dress like American girl dolls
through the 1940s.
The cost is $32 for the dinner, $28 for the teas. Brookside
Country Club is at 1133 N. Rosemont Ave., Pasadena. For more

Restaurant holds fund-raiser for disaster
GLENDALE -- Shaker’s Restaurant and the Glendale-Crescenta Valley
Chapter of the American Red Cross are teaming up to raise money for
disaster aid.
The restaurant will donate 20% of each check Tuesday to the
chapter to pay for its various programs. The chapter serves the
Glendale, La Crescenta and Montrose areas.
