Women recognized for founding Temple Sinai

GLENDALE -- Temple Sinai of Glendale will have a special service

dedicated to Jewish women at 7:30 tonight. The theme will be “Women

Weaving the Tapestry of Judaism: From Biblical Women to Their

Contemporary Daughters.”

The service will be intergenerational, led by women congregants 14

to 90, including three women rabbis: Leslie Bergson, Carole Meyers

and Bonnie Margulis. The service will also commemorate Temple Sinai

of Glendale’s founding 75 years ago by women in the Glendale

community.

Temple Sinai is at 1212 N. Pacific Ave., Glendale. Services are

Religious Science theme is ‘I Am Enough’

GLENDALE -- The Rev. Bonnie Rowsell of the Glendale Church of

Religious Science will speak on “I Am Enough,” at the 10 a.m. Sunday

service.

The sermon is based on the idea that, throughout the day, our

thoughts are continually creating circumstances, results and

conditions in our lives, so we should use those thoughts to produce a

life we want to experience.

A 15-minute meditation is at 9:30 a.m. Children’s Church for those

5 to 12 is at 10 a.m. Child care is provided.

‘Sky Through a Straw’ is service topic

LA CRESCENTA -- The Rev. Margaret Shepherd has chosen “The Sky

Through a Straw” as the topic for the 10 a.m. service Sunday at La

Crescenta Church of Religious Science.

Church school is offered for children 4 to teens. Classes occur

simultaneously with the church service. Child care is available.

Brunch is served in Chaffee Hall after the service, prepared by

the Goofy Gourmet, Gary Pullen.

The Course in Miracles class is at 8 p.m. Tuesdays.

LA CRESCENTA -- Thomas E. Witherspoon, minister of Unity Church

of the Valley, will speak on the subject of “On Having Other Plans”
