Glendale man suspected of Pasadena carjacking

A Glendale man was being held Tuesday on suspicion of carjacking

after what was inititally a routine traffic stop by Glendale Police.

Pasadena Police detectives contacted Glendale Police on Monday

about Jonathan Michael Warren, 18, because they believe he and

another man carjacked a Pasadena man at knifepoint for his Nissan

Sentra, according to a police report.

Warren was driving north on Brand Boulevard in a 1995 Nissan

Sentra on Monday when he was stopped by police because of the car’s

loud exhaust. When Warren could not produce the car’s papers,

officers patted him down for weapons and discovered he was carrying a

kitchen knife in the front pocket of his sweatshirt, according to

police reports.

Officers looked into the car and saw that the radio appeared to

have been removed with a serrated object like a knife, police said.

No further information was available from Pasadena Police about

the carjacking. Warren was booked on suspicion of carjacking and was

being held at Glendale City Jail on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to

be arraigned today.
