Hundreds in coins stolen from laundry business in Huntington Beach
Hundreds of dollars in coins were stolen from a Huntington Beach laundry facility early Monday, police said.
Officers responded to Beach City Laundry, at 10132 Adams Ave., at 1:48 a.m. after an alarm went off and discovered that the front window had been broken and $500 to $800 taken from under a counter, said Huntington Beach public information officer Jennifer Marlatt.
Authorities said they believe a white 1990s compact car, possibly a Toyota Corolla being driven by a man in dark clothing, was involved in the burglary.
“Crimes such as these where there is a window smash and a quick entry to take a cash register, cash drawer or a small safe are not uncommon, even with alarm systems and video surveillance,” Marlatt said.
