H.B. man suspected in home invasion in Port Hueneme
A Huntington Beach man was arrested in Ventura County on Saturday on allegations of trying to rob a home.
Jerrit Rodriguez, 29, was arrested by Port Hueneme police on suspicion of home-invasion robbery, possession of narcotics and two counts of residential burglary, according to the Ventura County Star.
Residents of a home heard someone entering at about 6:30 p.m., authorities said.
Two of the residents fled the house through a back door and called police from a neighbor’s home. A third resident confronted the intruder, who had a handgun, police said.
The intruder “surrendered the handgun and fled” to a home across the street, police told the Star.
Police arrested Rodriguez at the other residence, authorities said.
