Junior Ivy Davis had four hits, sophomore Allee Bunker and seniors Alyssa Horeczko and Callie Saccaio had two hits each, and freshman Jadelyn Allcin had a two-run double that blew open a close game. Horeczko (7-1) started on the mound and went four innings, and Davis closed and threw a perfect fifth inning.

The Oilers ran their overall record to 7-1.

“After last year’s 1-0 loss to La Serna, we really wanted to start fast and control the game from the beginning,” Huntington Coach Jeff Forsberg said. “Getting two runs early was the key as we kept pressing them until Inouye’s long home run ended it.

“It was a great team win against a great softball program that we respect and the win will help us move forward over the next two weeks before league.”

The Oilers will compete during spring break at the Arroyo Grande Softball by the Beach Tournament.
