Obituary: Former Sparkletts executive, Harold Bollinger

Former longtime La Cañada Flintridge resident Harold Bollinger, who for many years was treasurer of the family-owned Sparkletts bottled-water company, died Oct. 6. He was 95.

Bollinger and his wife Eleanor purchased a residential lot on Oakwood Avenue in La Cañada in 1939, the year they married, and built their first home there. After World War II they lived in the Rancho area and later on St. Katherine’s Drive in Flintridge.

Bollinger was a longtime member of Oakmont Country Club. On his retirement he and his wife moved to Kona, Hawaii, returning to California in 2001. While in Hawaii, Bollinger became active in the United States Tennis Association’s promotion of youth tennis there.

He is survived by his wife; sons Bill, Ric and Tod; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no services. His ashes will be buried in the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.
