No Retirement Planned for Piano Factory Owner

The Piano Factory Group, Inc., headquartered in Burbank, has been one of Southern California’s leading retailers of pianos with five locations spread over the Southland.

This is a family business headed by Rhoda Treibitz and run by her and her son, Glenn, and her daughter, Cheryl Fox. Nearly 10 months ago Rhoda Treibitz, CEO and owner of the company, decided to retire and sell the stores. The company sold or closed four of its five locations, and brought much of that merchandise to Burbank for a liquidation sale in its Burbank location, which they intended to close or sell.

But then something began to happen. Calls and letters started coming in asking Rhoda not to retire, not to close what has been a landmark in Burbank for many years. Personal visits were made by the conductors of some of the area’s leading orchestras also asking her to reconsider, and after a great deal of soul searching Rhoda decided to keep the flagship Burbank store.

The Piano Factory Group store in Burbank is continuing on with the family’s long tradition of customer service.

“Now with our energies at this one location we will be able to provide personalized service along with our no pressure buying environment for a shopping experience that will be second to none,” said Treibitz
