On Sept. 13, the La Cañada Flintridge Rotary Club was addressed by Princess Zsuzsa Vadnay, married to one of the oldest “founding-family” edel-familie of Italy, Prince William Rospigliosi-Pallavicini.
Princess Zsuzsa Vadnay-Rospigliosi was a correspondent for the US sponsored, Radio Free Europe, after World War Two, and moved to Munich when peace was declared and to the new headquarters of Radio Free Europe.
Following the Hungarian Revolution in October 1956, she became a leading figure in Hungarian immigration and a correspondent to the European intellectual community, initially working in Italy and later in Switzerland, while at the same time, continuing to produce incisive and thought provoking articles to Radio Free Europe for 35 years.
Recently the Hungarian state president presented her with Hungary’s “Highest Citizenship Award” for services to the country.
Her Italian Book, ‘The Ancient story of Rome’ was authored by Princess Zsuzsa Vadnay-Rospigliosi at the request of a Swiss travel agent, while she was living in Italy.
The Rotary Club of La Canada Flintridge meets at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. Persons who wish to attend are encouraged to contact Bryan Dickson of the Rotary Club at 626-844-7703.
