VHH Foundation’s Caduceus Club
Members of the Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation’s (VHHF) Caduceus Club and their guests gathered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank on the evening of Sept. 25 for a special, behind-the-scenes tour of the spectacular and magical world of Disney. On the tour, Caduceus Club members and their guests visited different soundstages and learned about some unique history from the Disney archives.
Steven Hartford, M.D., a 20-year-member of Caduceus Club and Steering Committee chair, thanked the members for their continuous support and acknowledged the efforts of Disney executive Steve Wilder, a VHH board member.
“Thank you for being so supportive of our group at the hospital,” Hartford said to the Caduceus members. “We are now at 61 members and growing.”
VHH Foundation President Margaret Kean also thanked Wilder and the steering committee for making Caduceus Club a success. “Thank you for all you do — for the philanthropy, and for the patients that you bring to the hospital,” said Kean.
Caduceus members and their guests in attendance included: Dr. Gary Gilbert, Dr. Craig Moritz, Drs. David and Linda Tashman, Dr. Gregory Yu, Dr. Chandnish Ahluwalia and Mr. Jasdeep Ahluwalia, Dr. and Mrs. Skip Barber, Dr. Leo Berkenbile, Dr. and Mrs. Devinder Gandhi, Dr. and Mrs. Steven Hartford, Dr. and Mrs. Allan Perry, Jr., Dr. and Mrs. Brandon Reynolds, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Stark, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Toffel, Dr. and Mrs. Leland Watkins, Dr. and Mrs. Alan Mantell, Jennifer Mantell, and Sue and Steve Wilder.
The historic Walt Disney Studios, which opened its doors in 1940, was envisioned by Walt Disney to be a self-sufficient, state-of-the-art production factory that provided all the essential facilities for live-action production as well as animation. The Studio is famous for many Disney creations, including “The Mickey Mouse Club,” “Fantasia” and “Mary Poppins.” In recent years, the studio was home to “National Treasure,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Home Improvement,” “Alias” and “8 Simple Rules.” Currently, “Eli Stone” and “Brothers & Sisters” are filmed on the lot.
