Nominees sought for Les Tupper awards
The nomination period has opened for the annual Les Tupper awards, presented each spring to organizations, businesses, individuals and high school students who have given long-term and broad-based volunteer services to the community.
The sponsoring agency for the awards is the La Cañada Flintridge Coordinating Council, which has posted nomination forms and criteria on its website, www.lcfcc.info.
The awards, established in 1969, are named in honor of the late Les Tupper, a civic leader who cared deeply about education, youth and enhancing the quality of life here, according to Sue Beatty, a member of the Coordinating Council.
Nomination forms are also available at City Hall, 1327 Foothill Blvd.; the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce, 4529 Angeles Crest Highway, Suite 102 and at the La Cañada Flintridge Public Library, 4545 Oakwood Ave. Nominations may be submitted by individuals or organizations to the Coordinating Council’s website, via email to joelsmith@earthlink.net or by mail to: LCFCC, Box 264, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91012. The deadline for nominations is midnight on March 8.
