The impeccably dressed young women lined the front steps of the Tournament House Wednesday afternoon, holding long-stem roses and practicing regal poses as camera shutters clicked all around them.
On Monday morning, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses will announce the seven young women who have been selected to serve on the Royal Court. From their ranks, the Rose Queen will be named in a Oct. 22 coronation ceremony to be held at Pasadena’s Tournament House.
The 2016 Rose Queen and Royal Court will officially reign over the 127th Rose Parade on New Year’s morning and attend the 102nd annual Rose Bowl game that follows it. Those appearances will be among more than 100 made by the panelists in their one-year tenure.
