Dodgers’ Brett Anderson reports improvement in sore Achilles’ tendon
Brett Anderson reported significant improvement in his injured Achilles’ tendon Wednesday morning, Manager Don Mattingly said.
“That’s been a little encouraging,” Mattingly said.
Anderson hurt his left Achilles’ the previous night in the third inning of a 4-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves.
As Mattingly spoke to reporters at Turner Field, Anderson was undergoing an MRI examination.
“We’re hoping for good results,” Mattingly said.
Mattingly said it was too early to say whether Anderson would be placed on the disabled list.
The comments should be taken with a grain of salt, considering Mattingly is often inaccurate with his medical prognostications.
Whatever the case, Mattingly said Anderson had only an “outside shot” of taking his next turn in the rotation Sunday.
