What are the odds?

Yet one more sign the Dodgers have turned things around, for the first time this season they are favored to win the World Series.

Yep, a team that was 12 games under .500 on June 21 is now the favorite in Las Vegas to be the last team standing in October.

Bovada, the Las Vegas online sportsbook, now has the Dodgers as 9/2 favorites to capture the World Series. The Detroit Tigers, who had been its favorites all season, are now listed second with 5/1 odds.

It’s been 25 years since the Dodgers won a World Series.

Seems that current 40-8 stretch is impressing more than just the locals. The Dodgers have opened a 7½-game lead over the second-place Diamondbacks in the National League West. And, oh yeah, a 17-game lead over the last-place Giants.
