Wyatt Loncar of Palisades has 24 strikeouts, zero walks in two games
Palisades could be a major factor in the City Section baseball playoffs this season if senior right-hander Wyatt Loncar continues his impressive early season start.
He struck out 12 batters twice in starts against Buena and Taft with zero walks. Palisades is 4-1.
Loncar is 6 feet 6 and headed to Ohio State.
“He’s a game changer for us,” coach Mike Voelkel said. “His biggest thing is his size. He comes from a different angle that most don’t see. He uses that to his advantage. His ability to punish the glove consistently separates him.”
The most successful pitchers in high school are able to throw strikes, and that makes Loncar very dangerous come playoff time.
