Baseball: Narbonne defeats San Fernando, 2-1, in 12 innings
Narbonne and San Fernando went 12 innings on Saturday before the Gauchos prevailed, 2-1, on a tie-breaking RBI double by Daniel Rocha. Rocha finished three for five on the day.
Birmingham defeated San Pedro, 8-3. Isaac Meza had a double, triple and three RBIs. Victor Mercado was two for two. Roman Tomashoff got the victory.
John Cashman allowed one hit and Riley Conlan had a double and triple to help Chatsworth defeat Sun Valley Poly, 12-0, on Saturday. Nick Henry had three RBIs.
Harvard-Westlake defeated Bishop Amat, 13-1. Michael Vokulich, Will Klink and Sean Kiley combined on a four-hitter. Cameron Deere had two hits and two RBIs. Tyler Urbach contributed four RBIs.
Loyola defeated El Segundo, 3-2, in eight innings. Angelo Armenta’s squeeze bunt produced the game-winning run. Jack Poulsen threw five shutout innings.
Cleveland defeated Westchester, 11-1. Sam Villa struck out six in five innings and had two hits and three RBIs.
Royal defeated Verdugo Hills, 6-2. Chris Kovach had two hits and two RBIs. Josh McClure went four for four for Verdugo Hills.
Saugus defeated Peninsula, 11-7. Roy Verdejo had a home run and four RBIs. Chase Wheatcroft allowed one run in five innings.
Bryce Vett had a home run and Luke Dykstra had a double and single in Westlake’s 7-1 win over Camarillo.
El Camino Real defeated Arleta, 14-0. Colton Snyder had two hits and three RBIs.
Banning defeated Sylmar, 6-0. Michael Ramirez threw a complete game. Juan Gallardo had two hits. Newbury Park defeated Granada Hills, 6-2. Jeff Tincher had three hits.
Taft defeated Kennedy, 3-2, in eight innings. Sophomore Max Mehlbaum threw well for Taft in his first start. Santa Barbara defeated La Canada, 5-4. Skyler Sabado’s had a three-run walk-off triple.
Bell defeated North Hollywood, 3-1. Warren defeated Simi Valley, 8-2. Lompoc Cabrillo defeated Crespi, 6-4, in 10 innings.
Sierra Canyon swept a doubleheader from Buckley, 9-3 and 6-2. Wes Wright threw five innings and had two hits and two RBIs in the first game. Freshman Seth Stone improved to 5-0 with complete game in the second game. Sierra Canyon (19-4) has won nine consecutive games.
Long Beach Wilson defeated Trabuco Hills, 4-2. Josh Goldberg struck out eight in five innings. Andrew Brown, Chris Betts and Jackson Foss each had two hits. Wilson (20-4) also defeated Glenn, 4-0. Goldberg had three hits.
San Clemente defeated Mission Viejo, 6-3. Lucas Herbert went three for three.
Santa Monica defeated Oaks Christian, 10-8, in 10 innings. The Vikings ended up knocking off Loyola and Oaks Christian this week. Kyle Ohanian had four RBIs for Oaks Christian.
Beckman defeated Katella, 11-1, and 8-1. Chase Bartholomew had two hits and two RBIs in the first game.
Agoura defeated San Luis Obispo, 3-2. Matt Lautz struck out seven.
