Baseball: San Fernando rallies for 5-4 win over Sylmar

Down, 4-0, going into its final turn at the plate, San Fernando rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh inning to stun Sylmar, 5-4, in a Valley Mission League game on Monday. Anthony Robles drove in the winning run and also pitched two innings of scoreless relief.

The two rivals play again on Wednesday at San Fernando.

L.A. Roosevelt 3, Cleveland 1: Pitchers Robert Contreras, Kenny Gallegos and Sergio Valenzuela combined to lead the Rough Riders (8-1) to victory. Valenzuela threw three scoreless innings of relief and had an RBI double.

Alemany 16, Chatsworth 3: Brandon Lewis had six RBI for the Warriors (6-2) at Cal State Northridge. Alex Mckenna had four hits and Will Picketts added a three-run double and finished with four RBI. Kyle Merkel (3-0) threw five innings to get the victory.

Warren 3, Banning 1: Coach Scott Pearson picked up his 400th career victory for Warren. Brian Duenas and Steven Nuno combined on a four-hitter with nine strikeouts. Jose Ruiz and Eric Menjivar each had two hits.

Los Alamitos 8, Orange Lutheran 6: Kyle Mora had two hits and Joshua Agnew and Mark Stanford contributed two RBI apiece for Los Alamitos.

El Camino Real 15, Highland 1: Marc Michiel had three RBI for the Conquistadores. Matt Malconian threw a complete game with seven strikeouts.

Arcadia 3, Village Christian 2: Noah Falcon threw the complete game in the Babe Herman tournament.

Crescenta Valley 1, Granada Hills 0: Eric Ma and Scott Vinceri limited Granada Hills to one hit in an eight-inning victory. Chris Murphy struck out nine in seven shutout innings for the Highlanders.

San Clemente 3-5, Garden Grove Pacifica 2-1: The Tritons swept a doubleheader and stayed unbeaten, including a 10-inning win in the first game.

Concordia 10, Einstein 7: Mike Diaz and Trent Davis had key hits for Concordia.
