Baseball: Kenny Brawner (4-0) throws another shutout for Moorpark

Left-hander Kenny Brawner of Moorpark is pretty good. He threw his latest shutout on Wednesday in Arizona, giving up five hits while striking out nine in a 7-0 win over Arizona Kellis.

On the season, he’s 4-0 and hasn’t given up any runs in 26 innings. Ryan Mitchell had three hits and Conner Chapman added two hits and scored four runs for the Musketeers (8-4).

El Toro 3, Esperanza 2: The Chargers advanced to the championship game of the National Classic and will play Arizona Mountain Ridge, a 2-1 winner over De La Salle, in Thursday’s 7:30 p.m. final at Cal State Fullerton. Noah Fluman came through with a complete game. Josh Zamora and Kenny Oyama each had two hits.

La Jolla 8, Cypress 3: Dominic Fletcher hit a home run in defeat.

El Dorado 2, Roosevelt 0: Austin Spooney threw 4 2/3 scoreless innings.

Servite 8, Palm Desert 4: Aaron Simpson continued his hot hitting with a bases clearing double to lead the Friars.

Alemany 9, Cabrillo 0: Daniel Ritcheson threw a two-hitter, striking out nine.

Royal 7, Pioneer Valley 2: Jordan Ramirez picked up the victory. Royal plays Alemany on Thursday.

Harvard-Westlake 6, Bishop McLaughlin 1: In Florida, Jake Suddleson hit his sixth home run of the season and Jesse Bergin threw a complete game, striking out six. John Thomas and Cameron Deere added two hits apiece. Later, Harvard-Westlake defeated Windermere Prep, 4-0. Ben Geiger threw four shutout innings.

Calabasas 5, Lompoc 3: Grant Nechak had a two hits and two RBIs.

Village Christian 18, Enterprise 0: Colin McGeary struck out 14.

Ayala 1, Troy 0: Adam Seminaris struck out eight.

St. John Bosco 3, Culver City 0: Nick Morales and John Beller combined for the shutout. Morales struck out six in four innings.

Agoura 3, Cottonwood 1: Michael Radin had two hits and two RBIs. Michael Weisberg threw a one-hitter.

Newport Harbor 2, South Torrance 0: Luke Genova threw the shutout.

Valencia 5, Glendora 1: The Vikings improved to 13-3. Ben Fariss went three for three with a home run and two RBIs. A.J. Medina and Cody Minnis added two hits each. Griffen Herrera and Caleb Watkins each had two hits for Glendora.

Hart 9, Canyon 2: The Indians cruised to the Foothill League win. Nick Plaia, Grant Thuente and Matt Elser each had two hits.

Saugus 5, Golden Valley 4: Rudy Aguilar had two hits and three RBIs for the Centurions. Joey Mendez added two doubles.

Burroughs 10, Glendale 0: In a Pacific League game, Shaine Leonard struck out 10 and gave up two hits to lead the Indians. Jason Whaley went three for three.

Redondo 10, West Torrance 1: Sean Reynolds improved to 5-0, striking out six. Marco Valenzuela hit a grand slam and finished with five RBIs. Redondo is 12-0.

Sierra Canyon 12, San Luis Obispo 2: Chris Torres threw a complete game. Dominic Shihabi hit his first home run. Parker Gelfuso had two doubles and four RBIs.

Quartz Hill 9, Littlerock 0: Daniel Cardenas threw five shutout innings in the Golden League win.

Santa Barbara 11, Seton Catholic 0: Carter Soto hit a grand slam for the Dons.

Sun Valley Poly 5, North Hollywood 4: Ruben Dominguez had the game-winning RBI in the ninth inning for Poly in the East Valley League victory.

Corona 7, Edison 0: Jeremiah Priddy threw the shutout. Samad Taylor went 11 for 18 in the Lions tournament.

Bonita 2, Tesoro 1: Brandon Bradshaw went three for three to lead Bonita. A.J. Woodall trhew a four-hitter, striking out four.

Sylmar 6, Van Nuys 0: Andrew Ochoa threw a no-hitter in a Valley Mission League game. Louis Jimenez had two hits.

Kennedy 20, Reseda 0: Philip Alfaro struck out eight for the Golden Cougars. Jerry Aguilar went three for three with a home run and four RBIs.

Chatsworth 9, Carson 1: The Chancellors won the St. Paul tournament. Ryan Roche struck out eight and Randy Mata had two RBIs. Chatsworth opens West Valley League play on Wednesday at Birmingham.

Capistrano Valley 12, Western 0: Connor Martin went four for five with four RBIs for the Cougars. Ryan Daugherty added four hits. Zak Herbers threw a two-hitter.

Palos Verdes 5, Aliso Niguel 2: Palos Verdes got the win in the Lions tournament.

Carter 6, Redlands East Valley 2: Carter won the Citrus Belt League opener.

Simi Valley 8, O’Connor 6: Andrew Devine and Cal Hodgins each had two hits and three RBIs.

Cleveland 4-4, Crespi 0-0: Sam Villa threw the shutout in the first game. Victor Gonzalez had two hits in the second game. Cleveland is 16-1 and starts West Valley League play next week.

Foothill 5, Cathedral 4: Foothill improved to 8-4 with the win in the Righetti tournament.

Oak Park 9, Santa Paula 5: Oak Park won the Santa Paula Classic.
