Baseball: Former Mater Dei standout Ryan McMahon is hitting home runs
Mater Dei senior has love for baseball
Former Santa Ana Mater Dei third baseman Ryan McMahon certainly didn’t take a long vacation during the off season based on his impressive start in the minor leagues for the Colorado Rockies organization this season.
He has hit eight home runs in 17 games. He’s hitting .333. He leads the South Atlantic League in home runs.
And if anyone needs McMahon to demonstrate his ability to throw a spiral with a football during down time, he can do that, since he was Mater Dei’s quarterback before focusing on baseball.
He was a second-round draft pick in 2013. He’s just 19 years old. Above is video from his Mater Dei days.
